Performance at Collse Hoeve in Nuenen

On Sunday evening, December 22nd I provided the live violin program during the annual Christmas dinner at the Collse Hoeve in Nuenen. In the beautifully decorated hall, with elegantly set tables and subtle Christmas lighting, guests enjoyed an evening dedicated to atmosphere, culinary delights, and music.

Atmospheric location

The Collse Hoeve, located on the outskirts of Nuenen, is known as a charming venue for dinners and parties. Its warm, rustic decor and hospitable service make it a beloved spot for special occasions. During the Christmas dinner, this atmosphere was further enhanced by the live music and festive decorations.

The concert

My contribution consisted of a varied program of classical works, light music, and well-known Christmas melodies. Think of pieces by Straus, Vivaldi, Saint-Saëns, and Piazzolla, interspersed with recognizable Christmas classics such as Silent Night, White Christmas and The Christmas Song.
The music was tailored to the dinner: subdued during the appetizer and main course, more pronounced towards the dessert and conclusion. This created a pleasant balance between background music and small musical moments where guests also enjoyed dancing.

Guest reactions

The combination of live violin music and the Christmas dinner was highly appreciated. Several guests indicated that the music gave the dinner an extra dimension and created a special Christmas atmosphere. There was a lot of interaction; afterwards, spontaneous conversations arose about the music and, of course, interest in the beautiful instrument, the violin.
